Terms of Service

1. The Service

Permanent hosting is available with an active paid subscription or administrator sponsorship. Manage your account and billing.

ShipSite (shipsite.co) offers free temporary static hosting and, when available, a permanent hosting subscription for US$3.99 per month. “Permanent” means no fixed expiry while hosting access remains active; it is not a promise of lifetime hosting. Free sites expire no later than 24 hours after creation. Signing in, claiming, updating, or subscribing does not extend an existing temporary site's deadline. Paid and administrator-sponsored accounts may publish new permanent sites while their hosting access remains active.

The paid plan includes unlimited sites within 500 MB shared storage, including retained versions, generated files, metadata, and temporary upload reservations. MB and GB use decimal units. Monthly allowances are 5 GB transfer, 100,000 hosted/management requests, and 1,000 deployments, resetting by UTC calendar month. Reaching a limit blocks further usage without automatic overage charges. Sponsored accounts have the same limits.

Subscriptions are billed in US dollars through Stripe and renew monthly until canceled through the account billing portal. Deleting a site, ceasing use, or receiving sponsorship does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation preserves access through the paid period. When paid or sponsored access ends, permanent sites go offline; files enter a seven-day retention period before scheduled deletion, subject to the content rules and availability provisions below. Restoring access during retention can restore sites only if deletion has not begun. Payment failures can interrupt hosting. Previously expired sites are not restored by subscribing.

2. Accounts

You may publish anonymously without an account. Signing in and obtaining an API key are free. They do not grant permanent hosting without an active paid subscription or administrator sponsorship. To create an account, you verify your email address via a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. If you believe your key has been compromised, contact us to revoke it; requesting another key does not revoke existing keys.

3. Your Content

You own everything you publish. ShipSite does not claim any rights to your content. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and make publicly accessible.

Except for sites owned by administrator-sponsored accounts, hosted pages display a ShipSite-controlled banner and run in a sandboxed frame. This restricts features such as popups, fullscreen, and top-level navigation. The banner identifies the hosting service and does not endorse or verify your content.

4. Prohibited Use

You may not use ShipSite to host, distribute, or link to:

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice. If we detect malicious content, we may remove the site immediately, regardless of payment or sponsorship.

5. Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the service or any uploaded content will remain available for any period. The 24-hour expiry is a maximum lifetime, not a promise of 24 hours of hosting. Content may be removed, lost, or become inaccessible at any time, including before that deadline.

Subject to applicable law, we may remove content, impose or adjust limits, or modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice.

6. Data and Backups

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We provide a ZIP download feature for convenience, but this does not constitute a backup guarantee. Temporary sites stop serving at their expiry deadline. Permanent sites stop serving when hosting access ends or usage limits are reached. Files and metadata are cleaned up asynchronously and may be physically deleted later.

7. Account Data and Analytics

We store email addresses, account identifiers, usage records, and subscription status to operate the service. Billing uses Stripe-hosted Checkout and the customer portal; we send Stripe the account email and identifier, and retain Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and payment status. ShipSite does not receive full card numbers.

The main ShipSite pages use Google Analytics when configured. The hosted-site analytics described below are separate from that service.

ShipSite records basic traffic analytics (page views, unique visitors, referrers, and top paths) for authenticated sites. In these hosted-site analytics records, visitor IP addresses are hashed rather than stored in plain text. Records are scheduled for automatic deletion after 90 days; physical deletion is asynchronous.

8. Warranties and Liability

ShipSite is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of availability, content retention, reliability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for the removal, deletion, loss, or unavailability of content, interruptions to the service, or any resulting loss or damage. You are responsible for keeping your own backups and should not rely on ShipSite as your only copy of any content.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights, guarantees, remedies, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
